Tanya Welsh, Registered Dental Hygienist/Clinical Director
For over two decades and the majority of her dental career, Tanya has been a core member of the DDS team. Known for her loyalty, expertise, and knack for patient care, Tanya is a big believer that oral health is an integral part of total body health. Outside of DDS, Tanya’s travel bug has her pursuing new adventures nearly every weekend, including trying unique food, finding new places to adventure, or hitting the outdoors for camping, hiking, kayaking, and paddleboarding. She shares the joy of travel with her nieces and nephew, who often join her for treks in her convertible Beetle, Gertrude. Tanya was born and raised in Lakewood and can’t imagine a better place to live than North Little Rock.

What are you most passionate about professionally? What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make?
Being an integeral member of the patient care team, I love helping patients with their oral health that in turn helps them in acheiving total body health.
Tell us bit about your educational background. What inspired you in your field?
Graduated from last class of NLR Northeast, went to UCA for undergraduate and UAMS for Bachelors of Science. I always knew I wanted to do something in the medical field. I went to get my teeth cleaned and knew right then dental hygiene was the career for me.
What are you passionate about personally? What do you really enjoy? What inspires you?
I love to travel! I enjoy finding new places, going on adventures, making memories and finding great food along the way. I have enjoyed passing travel bug on to my 3 nieces, and 1 nephew by taking them on adventures.
Where can we found you when you are not working? what’s your fovourite way of spending a weekend or a Sunday afternoon?
I love the outdoors. Camping, hiking, kayaking and paddle boarding. A lot of weekends are spent with my 2 youngest nieces, other family members, friends and driving around in my Convertible Beetle, Gertrude.
How long have you been doing what you do?
I have been a hygienist for 27 years and have spend 21 of those working for Dr. John Dean and part of that time also for his dad, Dr. Paul Dean.
Where did you grow up and why aren’t you there now?
I was born and raised here in lakewood. I never thought i would stay in NLR but during my travels I realized that it is really a perfect place for me to live.
Any none-profits you love & why?
Heifer International and St. Jude’s. Beause people in need, animals and kids.
What would be impossible for you to give-up ?
My friends and family.
Why did you start / go to wokr fro Dean Deantal . What path brouhgt you here ?
I was working NLR and knew of the DeanFamily and it was closer to home than my previous job which was only 1.3 miles and the dean dental was only 0.8 miles.

Loyalty and providing thorough outstanding patient care.
What’s the one problem you are best at solving for your clients? what would your ideal clients say about you?
That I am thorough and they can feel the care that i give.
